woman. However, they both also realized that the chase of the man had made them friends again, and that they had thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment.
So Fire and Wind made a deal with man and woman that day. If they would convince their people to continue to race through the caverns trying to collect the fires and running from the wind, the gods would allow that man and woman to become gods and rule with them.
So from that day on, the people of Kahlo raced through the caverns once a day, trying to gather the fires and racing from the wind, not only to please the gods but also wondering if they would be the next chosen to be a god themselves.
Though it’s not apparent what happened to the people of Kahlo in the end, it is apparent that Jamen’s last journal entries were those detailing the race and his clear mastery over it. He assumed he was going to become a god soon.
